My journeys, explorations, and adventures
I’m a dad of three amazing daughters, a digital entrepreneur from Canada, and a traveler who found a second life on the road.
How It Started
My love for travel didn’t hit me all at once — it unfolded slowly. If I look back, my first real taste came when I was 22. I spent two and a half months in Haiti with my cousin. It wasn’t a quick vacation. It was the first time I truly left home on my own, without parents, and lived somewhere else. I felt free, alive, and connected in a way I couldn’t put into words.
But then life happened. I settled down, had a long relationship, became a father, and for 10 years I didn’t travel. Not because I didn’t want to, but because fear and responsibility held me back. What if something happened while I was away? So travel became that “one day” dream at the back of my mind.
The Turning Point
When my relationship ended, I went through a season of rebuilding myself. Eating better. Training. Focusing on health and mindset. But there was still one thing I hadn’t done: travel again.
A close friend finally pushed me to take the leap. “Let’s go to Jamaica,” he said. It had been 10 years since I’d stepped on a plane, and honestly, I was nervous. But I went. Two weeks in Jamaica woke something up inside me — it reminded me what I had been missing. That trip was the spark.
I realized I didn’t want to keep circling in the same rut. I wanted to explore, to live, to see more.
Why Colombia?
My first choice after that was Ecuador. My daughter’s mother has roots there, and I wanted to connect with that side of her heritage. But it was 2021, COVID was still affecting travel, and she advised me to wait. So I looked just across the border — at Colombia.
I had no idea what to expect. I wasn’t chasing stereotypes, or going because of what people said about Colombian women. I just wanted to go somewhere new, somewhere close, somewhere that felt possible.
And what I found changed everything.
Colombia welcomed me with open arms. Its culture, its history, its food, its landscapes — all of it pulled me in. It became the place where I reconnected not just with travel, but with myself.
What This Blog Is About
This space isn’t about perfect, polished travel brochures. It’s about the real journey:
- Safety tips that come from lived experience.
- Stories of people and places that touched me.
- Guides for travelers — whether you’re going solo, as a couple, or just curious.
- And yes, a few reflections on dating, food, and everyday life abroad.
I’ve seen countless people — single guys, single women, families — come to Colombia, fall in love with it, and return home happier than ever. That’s why I write: to share not just what to see, but how to truly experience it.
Thanks for Being Here
If you’ve read this far, I want to say thanks. This blog is my way of documenting my journey — as a father, a traveler, and someone who believes life is meant to be lived fully.
Grab a coffee, dive into the stories, and if you’d like to stay connected, join my newsletter. That’s where I share the behind-the-scenes details and insights I don’t always put on YouTube or here on the blog.
Let’s travel together — one story at a time.
